- 👀 Hey
👀 Hey
something I don't normally do
GM everyone. This is a special edition of 2036.
My first child will (hopefully) be born within the next 24 hours 👶… which means you might not get this newsletter for a few days.
So, instead of the usual format, I thought I’d give you a run-down of some of the actionable things I’m paying attention to at the moment…
Let’s dig in.

1/ Ether looks as ready to burst as my wife’s pregnant belly 🤰
After a strong year for bitcoin, ETH looks like it’s next.
This is typical in every crypto rally: bitcoin first 🥇 Ether second 🥈.
Ether underperformed Bitcoin last month (+8% versus +28% for Bitcoin).
But with an Ether ETF likely on the table right after the bitcoin ETF, I expect this trend to reverse soon.
Good ways to play this include owning ETH or - my favorite - $ETHE.
2/ … and so do bitcoin mining stocks ⛏️
Mining stocks had a decent start to the year.
The $WGMI bitcoin miner index is up +132% year-to-date… but down -44% in the last few months.
However, transactions and fees on bitcoin are rising again, and miners could catch up to Bitcoin’s stellar performance.
In a rally, mining stocks trade like bitcoin on steroids. In the last bull market, $RIOT - one of the best miners - rose ∼9,000%.
Good ways to play this trade include picking up some miners like $RIOT, $CIFR, or simply buying the bitcoin miner index $WGMI.
3/ All eyes are on Solana at the moment 👀
Solana is up more than +80% in the last month.
Solana is a higher-risk play than Ethereum, but if the trend persists, it could outperform it in this cycle.
Right now - everyone is very bullish on Solana. That naturally makes me cautious in the short term.
But that caution could be costly. Crypto rides on narratives, and if Solana can establish itself as the 3rd coin for institutions (after BTC and ETH), it could go parabolic in this cycle.
An easy way to get exposed is to allocate 5-10% of the portfolio to SOL and forget about it.
Another is to start aggressively using protocols on Solana to qualify for future airdrops. I’ll show you how to do this soon.
4/ Crypto gaming could come back into full force 🕹️
My background before 2036 was in crypto gaming.
After stablecoins, crypto games are one of the most obvious crypto applications that could onboard hundreds of millions of users.
After a harsh bear market, crypto gaming is seeing light at the end of the tunnel.
Illuvium, one of the most anticipated games in this space, has revamped its token economics in anticipation of its launch.
Their token ($ILV) could be a good initial way to play this move. As the space and opportunities evolve, I’ll start covering this more.
I’ll watch this and update you when the baby allows.
In the meantime, the macroeconomic climate has gotten more favorable to risk assets in general - including stocks and crypto. The other three times Bitcoin broke past $35,000 - it went to $47,000 next.
So I’ll also keep looking for more leveraged ways to profit and will try and get something out to you again fast.

The biggest news from last week is that Sam Bankman-Fried was found guilty of all seven counts he was charged with. He could face 115 years in prison.
This week, however, instead of the news, I’m re-reading some classics that remind me to be present for my newborn:
The Prophet - Kahlil Gibran
Awareness - Anthony de Mello
The Way to Love - Anthony de Mello

Brilliant and hilarious thread.
