Is it too late to buy Bitcoin?

Zero or hero.

GM everyone.

A lot of smart people ask me this question - usually after Bitcoin’s made headlines again.

Price hits a new high, your cousin texts you to remind you he bought a long time ago (of course), and it feels like the boat has left the dock.

But here’s the truth:

  • if Bitcoin works the way its supporters believe, we’re still early.

  • if it doesn’t, it’ll go to zero—and “early or late” won’t matter.

It’s a binary. Zero or hero.

Let me explain.

Bitcoin isn’t a stock. It’s not a company. It’s more like owning a slice of the internet before the internet had ads. Or buying gold when it was still used to back paper money.

You're not betting on quarterly profits. You're betting on a new kind of money.

So the real question isn’t “Is it too late?”…

… it’s: do you believe Bitcoin will still matter 10 years from now?

If you do, price today is noise.

Zoom out.

You see, bitcoin launched in 2009.

For years, it was a niche experiment. Then it became a fringe asset owned by libertarians and computer nerds.

Now it’s owned by pension funds, nation-states, and is offered in Fidelity 401(k)s. The first Bitcoin ETF launched in the U.S. last year—and it shattered records.

And still, fewer than 5% of people on Earth own any.

If Bitcoin becomes digital gold—something the world stores value in—the upside isn’t gone. If it becomes global money, we’re not even at the starting line.

But even if you’re skeptical, Bitcoin isn’t all or nothing. You don’t need to “go all in.” You can own 1%, or 0.1%, and just watch what happens.

Now, timing does matter to some degree.

Bitcoin moves in cycles, and they’re brutal.

Every few years, there's a euphoric bull run—followed by a deep, painful crash. People who bought the top in 2017 or 2021 had to wait years just to break even.

Even now, many people have already called for the end of the bull market.

But here's the key: those who held through the full cycle—and didn’t panic sell—ended up fine. Often more than fine.

So buying Bitcoin today is like planting a tree.

If the tree is still standing in 10 years, you’ll be glad you did.

And if it’s not? You didn’t bet the farm.

TL;DR: It’s not too late. Bitcoin moves in wild cycles, but over time, the long-term trend has been up. If it succeeds, we’re still early. If it fails, “early” doesn’t matter. A small position and a long time horizon are your edge.
