๐Ÿ€ Earn $20 for learning the basics of bitcoin

and why $AVAX is soaring

Happy Thursday everyone!

Amazon Web Services announced a partnership with Avalanche yesterday - and that's pretty huge news. I've been bullish on Avalanche subnets since they came out, and $AVAX is up over 20% since the announcement.

In a future email, we'll dive into how to play around in one of the most famous subnets on Avalanche - DeFi Kingdoms, so stay tuned.

But for the next couple of tasks, we're going to get straight into the weeds of the basics of crypto.

The purpose of the upcoming tasks will be to understand the bitcoin whitepaper.

The bitcoin whitepaper is the most important document in crypto today, and it's the source of a now 14-year-old industry (the first bitcoin block was mined by Satoshi Nakamoto on January 3rd, 2009).

We always go to the source, by the way. Whether it's for learning about economics or the theory of evolution - you'll find better answers in The Wealth of Nations (Adam Smith) and The Origin of Species (Charles Darwin) than in the latest new-age pop psychology book.

So we're sticking to the source for now.

The problem, however, is that if you read it for the first time, the whitepaper can get hella confusing. It's filled with terminology that'll fly straight over your head. I know it certainly did for me.

But understanding the source is essential to build a strong foundation - so we're going to take one step back, break down the concepts into small, easy tasks and take our time.

To do this, we'll use other external resources outside the whitepaper.

These resources will enable us to ultimately understand the whitepaper better. And when we're done with them, it will all make sense to you.

So if you're ready to learn something that will pay dividends decades into the future as crypto only becomes a bigger part of our society and culture - let's dive right in.

And if you're a brave soul, you can find the bitcoin whitepaper here.

โœ… Task: earn $20 in BTC for learning the basics of bitcoin

The task today will be simple: you'll have to summarize a Youtube video. Tell me it doesn't get easier than that. But it will be worth it.

Hell, even if you don't complete the task, you'll carry this learning with you forever.

Because the video is longer than our usual tasks, you have until the end of the weekend to summarize the following Youtube video about the basics of bitcoin, taught by one of its OGs - Andreas Antonopoulus.

Andreas does an incredible job at breaking down some of the topics most people find challenging - and you can find the video here.

So hereโ€™s the task:

Step #1: Watch this video:

Step #2: Fill out this form with your summary:

Make sure to include your public bitcoin address so we can pay you (we recommend opening an account with Coinbase if you don't already have one).

This video will be the first of a handful of resources that'll help us master the basics.

The best submission will win $20 in BTC for their summary.

Until next time,
