You've heard of NFTs. Some guy called BEEPLE* came out of nowhere and sold an NFT for $69 million and then it was the only thing anyone could talk about.

Pictures of monkeys, zombies, penguins and even rocks sold for millions of $$. 

Yes, this rock - Ether Rock #55 - sold for 900 ETH in October 2021. That's a cool $3.6 million.

I know what you're thinking.

Yeah, me too. Like, why didn't I come up with the brilliant idea of a static rock. 

If you're anything like me, you probably asked yourself at some point - who in their right mind would pay millions of $ for a JPEG anyone can copy?!

But then Gary Vee came to the rescue.

Just like people want to own the original of a famous baseball card, people want to own the original art on the internet. You can airquote whatever part of that sentence you like, just like Gary does it.

The original art can have utility, like a skin you can show off to your friends in your favorite game, or a collectible by Chipotle that gives you free pico de gallo (for life).

But NFTs are also the clout of the Internet. 

Everyone used to fight for the blue checkmark on social media. But thanks to Twitter Blue, that's now been commoditized.

Instead, a Bored Ape NFT or a Cryptopunk is the new status of the internet age.

They signal to others that you a) understand culture b) have 💰. 

It makes you belong to the club of cool people - something we all want.

Eminem, Justin Bieber, Snoop Dogg, Shaq, Mark Cuban, etc. - all own one.

So could I write a super long email explaining NFTs in more detail (which I might do one day, watch out)...
