💰 The best bitcoin wallets
the easiest $15 you'll ever make
GM everyone. This is 2036, the newsletter that pays you.
Today is Wallet Wednesday - the best day of the week.
It's time for the easiest task here at 2036!

If you've been with us for some time, you know the drill. If not - we'll explain.
Wallet Wednesday is simple: you open a crypto wallet. You send us proof. You enter a raffle to win a prize in BTC.
We do this task because every crypto journey starts with a wallet. It's the basis of your degen journey.
The master of disaster.
The pillar of progress.
Without a wallet, your digital house of cards crumbles.

And if you were to have just one wallet, we'd want you to have a bitcoin wallet.
Because bitcoin is an element - like gold. Everything else in crypto is a technology company.
Nothing competes with it.
That's not to say we're bitcoin maximalists - on the contrary. We think it's important to have both immutable money (like bitcoin) and programmable money (like ETH).
But BTC is where it all starts.
Okay, so what wallet do you get?
In a previous newsletter, we asked some of those ultra-smart people on Twitter who debate block sizes and cryptography what wallets we should get - and this is what we found:
Best hardware wallet with offline security backup: Ledger combined with Cryptotag
Best wallet for simplicity and security: Coinbase
Best wallet for desktop: Electrum
Best wallet for Android: Samourai
Best wallet for iPhone: Blockstream Green
Best web wallet: BitGo
Best wallet if you're a total privacy nerd: Joinmarket (slightly complicated)
Best wallet if you're a total security nerd (yeah, gotta pick your battles!): Casa
Note: we have no commercial affiliation with any of these - or with anyone else for that matter. We roll solo, like Han Solo.

Which one you pick doesn't matter.
What matters is that you have a bitcoin wallet.
✅ Task: earn $15 in BTC for opening a bitcoin wallet
Today's task is simple.
Step #1: create a bitcoin wallet. If you already have one - that's awesome. You can submit that too. If not, pick one from the list above (or any list you like) and open a new wallet.
Step #2: Simply reply to this email with your public bitcoin address so we can pay you.
We'll select two submissions at random and pay them $15 each in BTC.
If you send us a screenshot, make sure to copy-paste your wallet address into the email. We won't copy-paste it for you. Like we've said before, we've got fat fingers here at 2036.
And that's it for today!
Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy.
Tomorrow we'll show you how to buy Bitcoin NFTs - the new hot thing everyone won't shut up about.
Until then,
Alex.
P.S. just cause it was Valentine's day yesterday, you're getting some bitcoin love here from us, courtesy of Michael Saylor...
