šŸŽ„ The Christmas portfolio

Set and forget it.

GM everyone. This is 2036. We scroll for gems all day so you don’t have to.

Here’s what we’re serving up today šŸ²: it’s Christmas soon šŸŽ„ which means you might take a break from all things crypto. Today, I’ll show you how you can still capture a lot of upside - even on vacation.

Let’s dig in.

1/ Holding majors & miners šŸ„‡ (easy šŸŸ¢)

The easiest thing you can do over Christmas is just to hold:

  • BTC

  • ETH

  • SOL

  • Bitcoin miners

It’s a low-maintenance portfolio that can be set up in less than an hour from scratch.

All you need is a Binance/Coinbase account - and, optionally, a brokerage account for Bitcoin miners.

You can buy BTC/ETH:

  • on an exchange (Coinbase/Binance)

  • through Canadian ETFs

  • through American funds like $GBTC and $ETHE

You can buy Bitcoin miners - like $RIOT, $MARA, $CLSK, $WGMI, etc. - in your brokerage account like you buy Apple stock (I use Interactive Brokers).

And you can hold these positions comfortably over the holidays without making any changes.

Sure - these will fluctuate with the price of bitcoin. But you’ll continue capturing some of crypto’s upside without any extra work.

2/ Passively stake for airdrops 🄈 (intermediate 🟔)

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: airdrops are one of the most lucrative strategies in crypto.

You can probably 10X your capital with airdrops alone.

The serious airdrop season is just getting started. This month, Jito airdropped $5K-$10K to anyone who staked ∼$430… šŸ‘€

Here are three easy airdrops to qualify for while enjoying your Christmas dinner šŸ½ļø:

a/ The Solana Saga phone šŸ“±

If you bought a Solana phone last Friday after my email, you got it for ∼$700.

You could sell it for ∼$5,000 on eBay now.

Or better - you could hold onto it for the airdrops.

The Solana phone constantly gets new airdrops, the way it got the $BONK airdrop (now worth more than the phone itself).

If you have one, you’ll keep getting airdrops as Solana picks up even more steam in the bull market.

b/ Injective ⚔

I mentioned Injective a few times this week. Its market cap is only 10% of Solana's, but it is rapidly booming ($INJ is up +25% this week).

The easiest way to participate in upcoming Injective airdrops is to stake $INJ.

To do that:

  • Get a Keplr wallet

  • Buy some $ATOM on Binance or Coinbase

  • Send your $ATOM to your Keplr wallet, and inside Keplr, convert it to INJ (the fees for this are minimal)

  • Open the Keplr dashboard, and click ā€œstakeā€ in the left menu. Select or type in ā€œInjective.ā€

  • Choose the amount of INJ you want to stake. I recommend staking with the following validators: Black Panther and Talis Protocol. This will help you qualify for their respective future airdrops.

New protocols are constantly taking snapshots of holders to determine those eligible for airdrops. So you can keep your $INJ comfortably staked as 2024 heats up.

I recommend staking at least 10 $INJ, ideally more.

c/ Celestia šŸ’«

Many traders think 2024 will be dominated by ā€œSolestiaā€ - Solana and Celestia.

Like Injective, the easiest way to qualify for future Celestia airdrops is by staking Celestia $TIA.

Luckily, you can also stake Celestia directly in your Keplr wallet and buy it on Binance/Coinbase.

Choose whatever validator you want outside the top 10 (I stake with Cosmostation and Binary Builders).

A major protocol took a snapshot this week to include all $TIA holders in their upcoming airdrop. I expect many more to follow suit.

By just doing the above, you’ll position yourself to collect a lot of juicy airdrops.

But if you want to go the extra step for Christmas, you can also…

3/ Actively farm airdrops šŸ„‰ (advanced 🟣)

Actively farming airdrops requires investing a little bit of time every day.

So, while it’s not difficult, it’s more time-consuming.

But if you have the time, here are some of the airdrops worth looking into…

a/ Jupiter 🪐

Solana airdrops are just getting started. And last week, I mentioned Jupiter as a great upcoming airdrop on Solana.

Jupiter is the largest decentralized exchange on Solana.

To qualify for the airdrop, you have to actually use the exchange i.e. trade back and forth.

The more trading volume you can generate, the better. If that’s for you - here’s more info.

[Btw - word on the street is that Solana phone holders will also qualify for the airdropā€¦šŸ‘€)

b/ Tensor šŸ–¼ļø

This one is for all my NFT degens out there.

Just like Jupiter, Tensor is an upcoming giant in the Solana ecosystem. It’s an NFT trading platform that’s absolutely exploding.

To qualify, you need to be actively listing, buying, and selling NFTs that are in the top 100 collections. You’ll also qualify by owning a Tensorian NFT.

It’ll probably eat up some of your time, but it could be one of the biggest airdrops in the Solana ecosystem.

I’ll take next week off - but if there are any last-minute airdrops you can start qualifying for with minimal work - you’ll be the first to know.

1/ Phantom wallet adds support for Bitcoin, Ordinals and BRC-20 tokens (maybe the Solana degens will put some of their gains into the Bitcoin ecosystem now…)
