🤯 Bitcoin... like I'm 5

and how I met my wife

GM everyone. This is 2036, the newsletter that pays you.

The first time I saw my wife, I looked at her from across the street, and in her own words, I gave her a look that came close to this:

Luckily for me, her response was more akin to something like this -

There's gotta be something to holding your nose between your middle fingers. Whatever, it worked.

And they lived happily ever after.

Why am I telling you this?

Because encountering bitcoin for the first time was nothing like that.

Bitcoin was new, technical, and screwing up meant losing my funds.

It was everything I didn't understand about money combined with everything I didn't understand about computers.

At the time, I was working at a small private bank. My monkey brain was busy thinking about real estate or 'value stocks.' Boomer stuff.

I didn't register that bitcoin was on an exponential adoption curve - and trading at just about $1,000.

Obviously, I didn't buy in until much later.

In hindsight, I wish someone had explained bitcoin to me like I was five years old.

And that's what we'll do today.

✅ Task: earn $15 in BTC for explaining bitcoin like I'm 5

Today's task is simple.

9 years ago, Nik Custodio wrote a great blog post explaining bitcoin to us like we're all traumatized 5-year olds walking around.

It's fantastic and super short.

Your job today is to read it and send us your summary.

So, step #1 - Read the following article:

Step #2 - Summarize the article in your own words, and fill in this form with your response (along with your BTC address).

You'll notice the response format's changed today.  We're (re)-introducing a form to fill out. In the process, we're building a simple but fully transparent way for you to see who wins what prizes every day.

A bit like a blockchain...

Alright let's get to the task!

We'll see you tomorrow.
