PLUS: Bitcoin NFTs explode

GM everyone. This is 2036, the crypto newsletter that pays you.
Hereâs what weâre serving up today đ˛: after a short break, paid tasks are back at 2036! Weâre super excited about it - and todayâs inaugural task will be a classicđ.
Letâs dig in.

Get smarter on crypto in 2 minutes

Memecoin summer is here.
And for the first time ever - itâs not happening on Ethereum or Solana. Itâs happening on Bitcoin.
Weâll write a detailed tutorial on bitcoin memecoins soon. But to participate, youâll need - you guessed it - bitcoin.
Getting some bitcoin is step 1 in everyoneâs crypto journey (along with red wine & green tea đˇ đľ ~ 15/85 ratio).
Bitcoinâs underrated. Unlike most other cryptos, bitcoin isnât a technology company. Itâs an element, like digital gold.
I know it feels boring compared to your 100X coin. But it's also your gateway drug to DeFi, NFTs and Web3.
And for the first time ever - we have decentralized applications on bitcoin.
And they could become huge.

If even a fraction of all the apps on Ethereum gets replicated on the bitcoin blockchain, it will be BILLIONS in value creation.
And it all starts with getting some bitcoin.
Thatâs why weâre re-introducing Wallet Wednesday - a 2036 classic.
Weâll pay one of you $25 to:
open up a bitcoin wallet
send us your public address
And if you already have a bitcoin wallet, you can send us that too. We donât discriminate against OGs here.
You can buy bitcoin on Coinbase or Binance, or any other exchange. Which one you choose doesnât matter.
Youâll soon need a dedicated wallet to buy bitcoin memecoins and NFTs.
But in the meantime, if youâre looking to secure your bitcoin, here are the best wallet recommendations out there:
For offline security backup: Ledger combined with Cryptotag (despite the recent turmoil surrounding Ledger, weâre still comfortable recommending them)
For simplicity and security: Coinbase
For desktop: Electrum
For Android: Samourai
For iPhone: Blockstream Green
For a web wallet: BitGo
For privacy nerds: Joinmarket
For security nerds: Casa
So letâs get right to it.
đ Task
Earn $25 in BTC for a simple crypto task

Todayâs task is simple. Itâs our classic Wallet Wednesday:
Step 1: Open a bitcoin wallet if you donât already have one
Step 2: Send us your public BTC wallet address by filling out this form
Weâll tally all the participants in a Google sheet and mathematically choose a winner at random whoâll receive $25 in BTC.
For transparency, the sheet will be viewable by all and sent out to you in Fridayâs email.
